General Questions
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. While leggings and a cute top are nice, sweatpants and T-shirt plus favourite sweater are great, too. Avoid clothing that is too loose or restrictive, and layers are recommended as we start cool, get warm, end cool. Bare feet are typical, but socks are definitely permitted as long as we have enough grip in standing poses.
While we provide complimentary mats, you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Using your personal mat can enhance your comfort and hygiene during your practice.
Absolutely! We offer classes suitable for all levels, including beginners. We provide modifications and options, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and supported.
We generally recommend avoiding a flow class, which moves quickly, until you have a basis in poses, pose names, your limitations. But, if that’s all that works in your schedule or sounds most interesting, come on by and get started!
Studio is at SpaFit in Melfort (115 Burrows Ave East), but the yoga studio/wellness space has its own entrance on east side of building (along Alberta St.)! Please use that entrance, it’s well-labelled.
We recommend arriving 10 minutes before the scheduled class time. This allows you time to say hi as your attendance gets recorded by instructor, to set up your mat, and to settle into the right mindset for your practice.
It’s advisable to avoid heavy meals at least 2 hours before class to prevent discomfort. A light snack an hour before is generally fine. Stay hydrated and listen to your body.

The frequency of your practice depends on your personal goals and schedule. Consistency is key, so aim for a schedule that works for you, whether it’s once a week or multiple times.
Short answer: yes, you can drop-in, upon availability! See booking calendar on home page, pick a class, look for available spots and book-in.
Long answer: we open up multi-week “sessions” and ask for registrations in the week leading up to the new session. See blog post “7-week Session Format” for why we do this, and ask to be on our email list to get earliest notice of a new session of classes. Registration for a session will secure your spot, and any remaining spots are open for drop-in!
