Yin Yoga

The long stretches that go deep into connective tissues: fascia, tendon, ligaments.  This form, working tissues and connections that are just being explored in modern medicine, is in the family of meridian theory that form the basis of acupuncture, reflexology, and other alternative medicines.  In practice and function, it is minutes-long stretches low on the floor where you slow down, you breathe deep, you lose yourself in sensation and noticeable openings in tissues while you go lower, further, deeper.  This is a great style to change-up with flow yogas that work muscles; here we work slow and quiet and other tissues of the body.
