Yoga for Backs
Based on specialized training and use of simple and specialized soft props (support/equipment), it is touted as “modern yoga” to counteract the problems that arise from today’s driving, sitting and general lack of movement. It takes a gentle, but not too gentle, approach by first relaxing tight and dominant muscles, cultivating awareness of tension and movement patterns so that they can be improved, nudging the spine to better alignment, and then applying exercises – from the manual and some not-from-the-manual – to strengthen and to change movement patterns. This is a great class for all ages and abilities; it is never too early to cultivate more self-awareness and to learn to move better every day in sport, gym, job, life.
